Mind of its own

Kaledovic:
Glad about some things
Sad about more.
After a while
All's such a bore.

Oh
Make me smile
Make me forget.
I need it badly
So tired of regret.

Little voice in my head:
Come now, come
Don't be upset.
No matter what
Life's not over yet.

See the birds?
Mindless and free.
Happy to hop over
From this to that tree.

Kaledovic:
But I don't have a tree.
See, that's the thing
Just floating lonely
Without a string.

Little voice in my head:
Then passion you need
and passion you'll get.

Don't blow it away.
It doesn't happen
Every other day.

Kaledovic:
You talk as if
My intent is to destroy
My happiness, my love
My very own joy.

Little voice in my head:
Stop babbling about.
Just be yourself
This time make it count.

Kaledovic:
So on I go
With sparkly eyes.
Not heeding the little voice
Is most unwise.

But who am I kidding
We all know the truth.

Open the door
Don't leave me alone.
My heart will always, always
Have a mind of its own.

I believe everyone's heart does have a mind of its own! Lame as that may sound, it's true :)

Thanks for your kind words :)

very very cool :) I'm a Gemini so I can relate to this pretty well. But we all know it's human nature, for the heart and the mind to squabble. And you've translated that beautifully. ;) I vote for more!

Thanks, D. :) It's always the posts that I don't put too much thinking into that turn out ok!

I think you absolutely beautifully described the thoughts that might wander in the mind of one when you think about life and everything it brings. Reminds one (once again... :p) to look on the bright side of life and treasure the learning you get from both ups and downs in life ♥

Whoa! Did I do all that?! Thanks, Yasemin. Charming words often come from charming people, and I'm not talking about myself :)

You're not only smart, but also romantic. I like the poem very much. I hope you'll release your first volume of poems soon.

Thanks a million, Andrea, for your time and for your very kind words :)

You give me too much credit, Jaklina :) My very own volume of poems? Hmmm, that will take a while but will be more than worth the effort. You'll be one of the first people to get a copy when it exists :)
